Oh gosh this is so stressful.. 

Since I got engaged I seek for a wedding planner immediately.. luckily I found a good one that is willing to work with us within our budget. But the thing is.. she told me to first confirm the date before we can make an agreement and book the whole event.

Now, to book the date, we first have to book it on the church.. the problem is.. before booking with the church we have to complete the requirements first.. Now for the requirements.. We have to get a marriage license which will only be valid for 120days.. we plan this whole thing by the month of June which is too far from March..so we get to the point of planning to just move things on December..

December came.. 3 months before the wedding..(we should have moved by Nov..*facepalm)

I spent a whole day googling information about getting the marriage license.. was not sure how reliable the information were since every page I visited got different opinions.. But here's how we did it.

APPLYING FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE

Requirements:
1. Birth Certificate issued by NSO or PSU - 2 photocopy each
2. CENOMAR - 2 photocopy each
3. Valid ID - 2 photocopy each
4. Money - ₱256
5. you and your partner

Steps:
1. Go to your local civil registry office
2. Get the Application Form from the staff
3. Fill out the Application Form
4. Submit the requirements
5. Pay the fee

We applied for the marriage license at the Municipality of Angeles City
The schedule for applying a license is from Monday to Thurs only

The staff were really kind, too kind to even photocopy are documents for free :) Make sure you bring the original copy of your requirements for validation, just follow the instruction given by the staff. After the payment you will receive a copy of your application form and the receipt of payment. They will give you a schedule for the marriage counseling.

After this we were asked to proceed to another room for an "interview". Here we were asked to fill out a form and take an exam. The exam has 6 parts with 5-9 questions. First part were questions about love and relationship, 2nd is about making a living, 3rd about relationship with your in laws, 4th about having kids, 5th about spirituality and last was about sex.

We took so much time answering these questions, we decided to just pick the best answer instead of answering by relating it to our personal life, the reason is that we dont need to go through this, we just do it so we can get the license, no need to make a big deal out of it and stress ourselves.

GETTING THE SEMINAR CERT OF ATTENDANCE

Requirements:
1. the copy of the application form given by the staff
2. you attendance

We took the seminar at the Municipality of Angeles City
The schedule for attending the seminar if every Friday only 8am onward

They told us to come earlier than 8am, we met at jollibee and had a quick breakfast, we arrived on the counseling by 8:30am lol late..

There were 2 counseling speakers, the first one discussed about love and how great and difficult marriage is, she also discussed about the laws that are relating to marriage. The 2nd speaker discussed about sex and family planning, others were participating and discussing their sex life while we were busy talking about the name of our future dogs haha i wasnt really interested with that topic and i told him that we should not get involve, and keep everything private.

The whole counseling was done by 1pm. After this they will give you back the copy of your application form plus 3 sachet of condoms lol, we gave ours to the other couple.

GETTING THE MARRIAGE LICENSE

The release of license was scheduled by January 15. If you can go, you can ask someone else to pick it up for you as long as they bring the application paper they gave you.

Make sure to check the marriage license information, ours got his surname spelled wrong! we did not bother going after them to correct it though.

And we're done! its time to hit the church!
